These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Grasshoppers’ services and website. By requesting a quote, enrolling in a service program, or using our website at ghoppers.com, you agree to these Terms. Please read them — they’re written in plain English, the same way we talk to our customers.

1. About Grasshoppers

Grasshoppers Fertilizer, Weed & Mosquito Control is a locally owned and operated business based in Barnegat, New Jersey. We provide lawn fertilization, weed control, mosquito and pest control, tree and shrub care, aeration, overseeding, and related outdoor property care services to residential customers throughout Ocean County, NJ.

2. Services

Service Programs & Agreements

Many of our services are offered as annual or seasonal programs. When you enroll in a program:

• You agree to the scope of services outlined in your estimate or service agreement
• Services are scheduled based on seasonal timing and treatment windows appropriate for Ocean County conditions
• We will notify you before each visit when possible; some applications do not require you to be home
• You are responsible for ensuring access to the treatment areas (unlocked gates, cleared access, etc.)

One-Time Services

One-time services are provided on the terms agreed at the time of scheduling. Pricing is confirmed before we begin work.

Service Results

Lawn care and pest control involve living systems — soil, plants, insects, and weather all play a role. We stand behind our work and will make reasonable follow-up applications if results fall short, but we cannot guarantee specific outcomes against factors outside our control (drought, extreme weather, pre-existing disease, soil conditions, etc.).

If you are ever unsatisfied with a service, contact us within 10 days and we will make it right.

3. Scheduling and Access

You agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your property and service address
• Ensure our technicians can safely access treatment areas on scheduled service days
• Inform us of any known site conditions that could affect service (e.g., pets, garden areas, septic systems, well water)
• Notify us if your service address or contact information changes

If we arrive for a scheduled service and cannot access the property (locked gate, vehicle blocking, etc.), we may be unable to complete the service that visit. A missed service may be rescheduled or, in some cases, charged as a service call depending on circumstances — we’ll always communicate clearly before any charge.

4. Pricing and Payment

Estimates and Pricing

All pricing is confirmed in writing before services begin. Prices are based on the property conditions described at the time of your estimate. Material costs and market conditions may affect pricing year to year; we will notify you of any changes before renewing your program.

Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of each service unless you are enrolled in a pre-pay or installment program, in which case the agreed payment schedule applies. We accept check, credit card, and ACH bank transfer.

Late Payments

Accounts with balances outstanding for more than 30 days may be subject to a service hold until the balance is resolved. We’ll reach out before suspending service — we’d rather talk it through than leave your lawn unattended.

Cancellations

You may cancel a service program at any time by providing written notice (email is fine). If you cancel mid-season:

• Services already completed are billed at the full per-service rate
• Pre-paid amounts for unperformed services will be refunded, minus any applicable discount you received for pre-paying
• No cancellation fees apply unless otherwise stated in a written agreement

5. Property Conditions and Safety

Before service, you agree to:

• Remove or secure pets from outdoor areas on service days
• Inform us of any known hazards on the property
• Inform us if you, a household member, or a pet has known chemical sensitivities

We follow all state and federal regulations regarding application of lawn care and pest control products. Re-entry intervals and precautions will be communicated on your service receipt or by our technician. Always follow posted re-entry instructions before allowing people or pets back into treated areas.

6. Website Use

Our website (ghoppers.com) is provided for informational purposes and to connect you with our services. By using the website, you agree to:

• Use the site only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to disrupt, scrape, or interfere with the website’s functionality
• Not submit false or misleading information through any contact or quote forms

We reserve the right to update or modify our website at any time without prior notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

Grasshoppers is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from our services or your use of our website, including — but not limited to — damage caused by pre-existing lawn conditions, weather events, pest resistance, or actions outside our control.

In the event of a valid claim related to our services, our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in question. This does not affect your rights under applicable New Jersey consumer protection law.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on ghoppers.com — including text, photographs, logos, and graphics — is owned by Grasshoppers Fertilizer, Weed & Mosquito Control or used with permission. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute our content without written permission.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any disputes arising from services or these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of Ocean County, New Jersey, or through mutually agreed alternative dispute resolution.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document will reflect the change. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. For significant changes, we will notify active customers directly.
